| Those that set about the task of establishing
NMCCAT are drawn from the the management and staff of Public,
Education & Government Access stations throughout the state of New Mexico, avid
supporters of the PEG model and other individuals that
recognize the invaluable service that Public Access
offers an informed populace, a diverse community, and the
democratic process.
We conceive of this organization as a focus and fulcrum
wherein the visions and energies of people with a broad range of
interests, backgrounds and experience can be mutually supportive
in expressing their individuality as well as acknowledging and
benefitting from what others have to offer and reveal.
We intend to seek out and involve not only those of us that
are employed in the field of PEG Access but also producers,
viewers, community organizations of all kinds, and those that
are looking over the horizon in the communications revolution.
We will seek to find and offer to our members and our
communities benefits to enjoy and opportunities to
explore. We will not only adhere to and promote Equal
Opportunity, we will seek ways to effectively make EO a reality
for the greatest number of people that our resources will
support.
We will promote and defend access to media and the means to
create it. As we promote and defend 1st Amendment Rights
in the daily operation of the member channels, we will likewise
promote and defend 1st Amendment issues in other arenas of
personal and collective expression.
